My 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter finally began to use the potty. She did well for a short while, but suddenly began to have bowel movements in her panties. At first it seemed like an accident, but now she hides behind something, gets real quiet and does it in her panties. She's still peeing in the potty fine, but refuses to use the potty for bowel movements. One of my great grandsons is doing the same thing. (They don't know each other). Anyone else have this problem? What causes it? How do we stop it? I am just confused.

Well it's good to know this is apparently fairly common. I thought at first its because everytime she'd do it in her pants, she got a bath and she loves baths. So I tried just sponging her when she poops and giving her more baths at other times, but she's still messing in her pants. I'd love to find out the little one's thoughts when they do this. I'm sure the answer is there.
