My daughter is 22 months old and she goes on the potty every night before bath time when should I start trying to get her to really start potty training? I am hearing all different ages but when should I really start training her?

when my daughter was potty training at 3 she would go when she wanted to and would never tell us when she had to go. we had her in pull ups when we decided to take the pull ups away from her so she just wore panties she went about 3 day's of accidents and then she was sick of changing her clothes all the time we put her in the bath everytime and she finally had enough and started telling us when she had to go. fo about 3 months after that we would have the normal accident here and there but she was potty trained. that's whast worked for us. I hope the best for you. I know have a 2 1/2 year old son that wants to potty train. GOOD LUCK. Jessica

My daughter is also 22 months old, and she just started potty-training last week.  I think part of it for her, though, is that I just potty-trained my 3 1/2 year old boy 3 months ago.  I think with him going potty all the time (plus his encouragement for her now)  that has really helped her along.  She had gone on the potty a couple times the day before I started, and the next day, when she went potty...I just figured I would put her in underwear, and she did great!  I wasn't planning on training her yet, but since she was doing it herself, I figured to encourage her.

I think if she is going on her own, then just take the initiative and go for it!  It sounds like she's ready!

I would say that she is getting ready. put her on the potty as much as you can. What we did was hung a chart in the abthroom and put a star sticker on it everytime she went.  Also in the begining we let her watch TV but only if she was sittign on the potty...and when she would hear the tickle and she would feel it and get all excited....We even read a lot of books sitting on the potty!!!

Good Luck I heard Girls are easier then boys!!

It depends on her... our oldest is 27 months and sits on the potty all the time. She even goes #2 on there but hasn't gone #1 because she doesn't feel it early enough.
