my daughter was starting to take her nappy off when it was wet at 16months. i started putting her on the toilet at each nappy change and before a bath or shower but she is yet to go, after a month. the day care she attends suggested the toilet thing, i think she is still to young, but its not hurting her to try.

your child will let you know when he/she is ready.

any time after 18 months but usually your child will let you know when they are ready... every child is different... boys tend to be slower then girls.. and if there are older sibblings or kids around them a lot they tend to potty train faster. just watch for your child to start to show some interest in the potty. about a month ago i bought a small potty for my son and put it in the bathroom. he sits on it but thats about it... he'll even want his diaper off to sit on it but he rarely ever asks to go or show much interest in it when no one is using the toilet. but if your child is under 18 months don't bother they are not physically ready to be potty trained.
