My daughter is 2 1/2 years old. I have tried to put her on the potty so many times ans she just cries, sometimes she will sit there and wait to put her pull up back on to pee. I know at daycare she uses the potty with all the other kids, so Im not sure what im doing wrong. Any ideas??

Are you using the large potty or those small pottys? If its the large one, make sure there is a foot stool that she can put her feet on. My daughter would not go at home until we got one since once is used at daycare. It makes her feel more comfortable.
Which ever the one you use, positive reenforcement should help. Kids love to be praised and some will try harder to get it.

You are not doing anything wrong! I have twins that are the same age. The oldest twin is being trained now. I found it useful to use a timer. I am a home mom, so I have the extra time. I set the timer for every 15-30 minutes, so when it goes off...it not only reminds me, but got my daughters attention. Every time it goes off, she says...Potty Time! She gets excited to go. Plus everytime I take her and she goes in the potty, I give her a sticker, if she pees and 2 stickers if she poos (excuse my words there, but it's words that kids understand!)! I just have a piece of colored paper on the wall beside the potty...not really a chart! But she's excited! I also have her in pull-ups as well. Some times I try the big girl undies...but at least she's understanding when she goes in them!! Don't be stressed out about your child not being trained yet....it takes time! I also have a little seat that goes right on the toilet and I have a step stool for her to use to help get her up!

My other twin goes and is interested in it once in a while, but I figured with twins..it may be better this way because the youngest is learning from the oldest!!

Good luck and hope something I said gives you an idea! But most of all...don't blame yourself!! I'm sure you are doing the best that you can!!

Take care!

just put her in underwear pull ups are just glorified diapers. we got sick of the pulls ups (3 months of 'training and we got no where) so we got rid of the pull ups and bought my daugher underwear put her in them and after 3 days she stopped having accidents, if she peed her pants i would wait a few minutes to clean her up and i would make her help me clean up the mess she made on the floor, she caught on real quick and we haven't had many accidents since day 3!! good luck, we also used praise and stickers!! she loves to call people on the phone so after she peed a few times on the potty we would call and tell grandma or some one she was so proud! it is messy but it sure works! good luck, she'll get it eventually, just remember be consistant!!

Hi ive just potty trained my 2 1/2 year old she didnt like it at first but loves stickers and books so we gave 1 sticker for wee's and 2 stickers for the other!! Worked a treat loves sitting there reading books and of course stickers!! Lots and lots of cheering! I'm sure she will get there like you say if she dose it at daycare it because she wants to follow other kids! Took us 3 1/2 weeks to fully get it sorted. Hope this helps
