My daughter has been fully trained for about 9 months now (she just turned 3 in May). We did rewards. She loves twizzlers, so she got one twizzler for peeing and 2 for pooping. I also brought her in the bathroom with me when I went, so she saw that it wasn't painful (as I've heard from other parents, that tends to be a big fear for little ones). And she only got twizzlers when she went on the potty. Not snack, not a treat, it was strictly a potty reward. We also did stickers. Even now, if she has an especially large BM, she'll tell me her butt hurts and we put little heart stickers on her butt. And, if she's having a hard time, I ask if she'd like me to hold her hands and we make the "angry" face together. and make the GRRRRR noise! lol... Idk, to me it just seemed like it'd help her push better. And we make a HUGE deal about it, still. Sometimes commenting on size (is it big poop or little poop), how many there are... You'd be surprised at how fascinated small ones can be with poop once they figure out it doesn't hurt...

I bribed my little girl to first do a wee on the toliet and then a poo... I bribed her with chocolate (just gave her about 6 little chocolate drops that you would put in a choc chip cookie) and it worked a treat! she is two next week and fully trained day and night (couple of accidents but that is allowed after only one month of potty training)
she doesn't ask for it anymore, but helped SOOO much when she was first starting. - She also has had problems with consitpation so i knew that it wasn;t going to be easy.. but hey a little bribery went along way! :)

I know it's frustrating but she is only 3. Think of it in terms of a 3-year old. Pooping in the potty is like losing a piece of themselves...literally. Don't push...she'll get it eventually. One day it will just be a click-decision for her. As for just wanting to sit on the potty for no reason, explain to her that it's for when you poop and pee. Allow her to sit there with a special potty book and see if that helps. Just try to remain patient. She'll get it :)

Everyone just tells me that one day he will "just get it" in the mean time I am sick and tired of scrubbing poo out of underwear. oh well.
