our son is 27 months old he is using his potty chair during the day, we had to show him how to use it many times and we started rewarding him with m&ms. when he sat on it by his self we would give him 2 m&ms and we told him if he would pee pee we would give him 3 m&ms and if he would poo poo in it we would give him 6 of them. when he used it we followed through with it and prasied him even did a little dance for him! We also used to let him run around naked but he got him wearing big boy undies now. he even runs inside to use his potty when we are playing outside! but we have not mastered night time or going in public bathrooms yet.

My son is naked at home. if he is in a diaper, pull up, or underware he thinks its ok to go in them. when he is naked there is nowhere for it to go. we have been doing potty treats. The real trick is how do you get them to go at night?

When i potty trained my little boy, I had to go to the bathroom infront of him, and tell him i was pottying and then put him on the pot after me, and i had to take him like every 30 minutes, after we started that way it only took him about a week to catch on and he was 18 months when we potty trained him.

We used M&Ms as a reward, but our son (who's 2 1/2) made the decision when he was ready. Since then, it's been fairly easy (although we're still working on the pooping in the toliet).

My son turned 3 in late december. it was agame to him until he started pre-k 3 in early february. Once he saw all the other kids going in the potty, he did great from the first day of school.

Congratulations Heather! Shu potty traing is a night mare. My son would just bend and poo anywhere i can't even remember how he eventually got it rite coz it was just so damn frustrating. the worst part is that when i got pregnant with his sister he was progressing well but then he regressed in everything. He's doing fine now though but the remaining problem is at night, if we don't wake him up for a pee at intervals he wets himself. Yho i'm really happy your son's doing well.

Thank you all for your advice. I started a chart of each day of the week and started using stickers for everytime he goes. He is actually doing well. I think it will be all good from here!

if that doesn't work then put a piece of toilet paper in there and tell him to sink it like a battleship?

try puting fruit loops in the toilet and having him aim and hit them with his pee.
