Boys are absolutely need more time for potty training. It took me 3 months to potty train my son ( he's the only child) , i was so frustrated. And one day we went to my friend's house and he saw my friend's 5 years old boy were doing his business and once we got home he told me that he need to go to the toilette and never had any accident since than. So i guess you need to know whether he is ready or not. Good luck.

My number one advise is to take the zen approach. Boys especially are not great about potty training. I just advise you to let go and let your son kinda let you know how ready he is. You just have to keep reminding him go and do your best to have him visit the potty shortly after he drinks (like 15 min), and try to consolidate his liquid intake. I thought my son was very hard to potty train, I started at 2.5 years. Looking back at it, I think I started too early for him, cause come 3 months later, he practically did it on his own. Do not get frustrated. They will get it! Try your best to stay supportive and not scolding for accidents.

When I was potty training my 3 year old I took off her bottom half in the house. Had the potty nearby and kept asking, we've had accidents and now she'll only use the 'big' toilet now. Try a reward chart of stickers and treats when he gets so many. Put it in a place that he know where it is and use some stickers he chose. I also found that she wouldn't use certain potty's as they were cold on her bottom and found the Fisher Price one that's like a toilet, don't know if they do it of you're in America, but it really helped

A link for potty training in general.

My son Zander (2 yrs) doesn't always like to tell me he has to go potty either, clothed or naked. I tend to ask him a lot if he needs to go, he tells me NO. I have to start making him TRY more often. That's weird that he doesn't want to tell you he has to go with clothes on. You would fig he wouldn't want to get them wet. Hmmm Maybe he's just going back like it's a diaper, or maybe that wetness doesnt bother him as much?? Is there anything he enjoys doing a lot... like a Park etc. where that could be a reward for talkin to you, and letting you know when he has to Pee etc with clothes on? Sometimes your Dr may know some info as well. Hopefully you have more mommies to help you with this question. :-) I've caught mine in the start to middle of poopin in diaper, and ask/tell him he needs to do that on the potty, than we run for it. tee hee
