Does anyone have a simple remedy for potty training constipation? Something like prune juice for example.

I had this problem with my son. Usually, I gave him juicy juice, which usually you would water down. But when he was constipated, I didn't. I also gave him cranapple juice, which amazingly did the same thing. Hope that helps!

Well, my daughter has been having issues with constipation. My doctor has suggested mineral oil. I started with a tablespoon and over the corse of a few months found that 2 tablespoons at night works wonders. She doesnt fight me when I give it to her either, she likes it. I have also found that Apricot Necter works really well too. It has more fiber, I think. It tast much better then prune juice! My daughter is only 19 months, we havent started potty training yet but we got her to go comfortly.

Thank you both. But I was looking for something to make doing potty easier, something used as a softener......but something natural.

My daughter was holding her poop, too. So I waited until she hadn't gone for 2 days and took her temp rectally. Then I put her on her little potty in front of the TV and turned on a movie that I knew would distract her. In 20 minutes, she had pooped. We made a huge fuss, gave her stickers and Oreo cookies, etc. The next day, she disappeared and when we found her, she was sitting on her potty, pooping! So, more Oreo's and stickers. We have since laid off the cookies and she gets only one sticker. But no accidents since then!
