Potty training, tips needed!!

I have a 2 year old and he understands that he needs to go in the big boy potty, but he throws a fit when I ask him if he needs or wants to go potty. What do I do?

first: he may not be ready. Second: my daughter resists if i ask if she needs to go...but if i ask her "can you try?" she usually does. Not sure why that works, but it's worth a shot with your little one. Also, maybe try slowly adding one more time of day where you insist on potty: like before baths, or before you go outside. I say something like "well, that's the rule, all big girls go potty before they go outside". Those are easy starts because you can say "well, if you want to go outside, we have to go potty first"...usually that's pretty convincing.
