Thats when, or a little before that, I started teaching mine (now 2) not to touch certain things like breakables, lamps, pictures, etc. "We look with our eyes (point to eyes) and not with our hands (show hands & shake head no)" I have MANY breakables. I have always believed that we should give more credit to how smart kids are and if your TRAIN them, they will take the direction and your life will be easier when at other's homes, etc. Its great! And if she gets a little too curious I thumped the back of her hand a little just to get her attention while softly & firmly saying no. She got used to hearing it but not in a mean way. I didn't have to thump very often and she learned quick! I actually started about 10 mths and when she started exhibiting defiance I just stuck to it and was a happier child for it. I actually found/experimented that when I gave in too many times and didn't train she acted up more often and defied me more (I mean later after turning 1). But when I traied her or diciplined her (the thumping just gets her attention) she really respected me more. She is a very sweet and outgoing girl. she is extremely verbal now and constantly tells me she loves me (that's just great any day!). It is totally worth it. I think the thing that really helps us is I talk to her about what is going to happen before it does and she is not surprised. or if she is she just looks to me and I say its ok and she is as well. :-) Sorry for the long post. I carry on! haha

Ohhh and I have started to brush his teeth. I dont' use toothpaste I just want him to get used to it so that he knows it is something you do everyday. I have added it to his night time routine. He gets a bath most nights......and he gets his bottle then a story and then his teeth brushed. So if you haven't started with a toothbrush you might want to think about starting.

My one year old stopped sleeping thru the night. He is getting molars so that was waking him up. I give him tylenol to help with the pain when he gets very cranky. When he is just a bit cranky I give him frozen fruit in a thing called nubby nibbler. Little mesh bag so they won't choke and it has a handle. It helps with the pain and its healthy
