I just found my seventeen month old on top of the dining room table.. I have tried everything that I can do to keep him off the table from putting things in the chairs so he can not move them to moving the chairs away from the table, which has resulted in him moving the chairs back and moving the stuff out of the chairs..
Any other suggestions?

Only thing you can do is give him other things to do to distract and keep on him. if he likes to climb, let him be in the middle of the room on a carpet and let him climb on couch cushions, then he can have fun falling, stacking, climbing, falling, stacking, climbing....and then nap!! :)

Maybe make a place with something he can climb with soft landing underneath it. If you catch him climbing the table, just move him to the thing he can climb. My son liked to do that too. I used a mat like the ones at soft plays with some soft blocks to climb. Before that i used the cushions off the sofa and made them into a pile with a bed duvet underneath it......he liked those best and played with them for days.

I remember when my son started doing that ......... just at around your son's age. He's 3 and he still does it sometimes. I'll be interested in the responses. I've tried time out and have been consistent but he still does it. It's gotta be a boy thing.
