My son had his swine flu jab a couple of weeks ago & was fine, only cried for about 10 seconds & then looked at me with a petted lip! Our doctor asked whether we would prefer him to receive it in his arm or leg, so we chose leg as it's obviously a bit more fleshy. He was fine rest of the day & has been so since - I would definitely recommend it.

my daughter and myself had our flu jab together on the 30 of december 2009 i had it because im a diabetic, and she was fine was a bit shocked when the nurse gave it to her but she was fine no side effects but me i got frequent headaches and aches and pains but they went i wouldn't worry to much about it and it is for their benefit at the end of the day just think like its another jab he needs like when they was younger its scary but just comfort them afterwards! i would say go ahead with it and dont worry too much.

Absolutley not! I am a nurse and happen to know the manufacturer's of this vaccine will not even risk their OWN health and take their own vaccine. Now that speaks volumes. It contains Timerasol. This causes various forms of autism is many children and can cause Guillain Barre Syndrome in adults. I will search out the link so everyone can view the public tv interview with one of the makers...yes, they went on live television to state how "safe" this vacc is NOT! Scary stuff. I worry they will try to make the vacc mandatory for nurses...I don't want to look for another job right now. We need to protect our families. Good old fashioned soap and water, and good friction while washing hands just goes so much further. And PLEASE, keep the kiddos home when they are ill! Stop the daycare/school "pass the flu program"!

Yes get it! We did not get ours soon enough and my 5 years old 2 year old and my husband and I all got it. It was awful!!! 104 temp for days on end. It lasted almost 10 days thefever only 4 and was the worst sickness any of us have ever had. Anything to prevent it. It is well worth a little pain with a shot than being helpless to make them feel better if they get it.

I got it and so did my 2 year old. the only side effect was a sore arm for me. He didn't seem to have a sore arm. no other side effects.

My son and I have both had the swine flu shot, and we were both fine. I got it because I'm pregnant, and my son being in daycare I felt needed it. I hate getting shots of any kind myself and it didn't bother me at all, my arm didn't even hurt from it! My son had absolutely no side effects from it. Not even the fever he gets from other vaccinations.

my children havent been invited for it yet (age 3 and 1) but i have had it because of being pregnant, and know a few friends kids who have had it and only side-effect to of affected the lot of us was a painful arm.

Lasted about 3-4days and felt like id been punched in the arm (started 24hrs after jab) and from what my friends have said their kids complained of similar pain but your allowed to take calpol ect which presumably would help that side effect
