Sleep Issues

Our 18 month old little girl has been having sleep troubles since she moved out of our room at 4 months. She wakes 2-3 hours after going to bed, screaming. Sometimes its the pain scream, sometimes its fear scream. Since we took the side of her crib down and made it to a toddler bed, she has been sleep-stumbling into our bed in the middle of the night - sometimes as early as 12 or as late as 4. Nightlights offered no help. She will sleep soundly in our room but not in her own. We have tried laying with her in her room but the moment we leave she wakes screaming again. In the morning, she is confused about how she got to our room. We have also tried a gate at her door, but she will run into the gate repeatedly and scream until we let her out. She has also been very resistant to going to bed at all lately. Anyone have any ideas about why this is happening, how we can stop it, what we can do to help our little love to get the rest she needs? We're just on this side of asking her doctor. Thanks.

be consistent and keep putting her back in her bed...comfort her briefly and then leave...repeat until she gets it that that is where she needs to stay...you will be tired for a while....
