My 2 year old daughter has always had trouble falling asleep at night time and nap time. The Dr. told us it could be because she doesn't get up till around 8:30-9:00 in the morning. I was just wondering if anyone else has any ideas, advice or suggestions. We have a great bedtime routine...I am wondering if it could be a lack of melatonin.

what is your child's schedule like? your child should be on 1 nap and go to bed around between 7/730pm.

when kids have a too-late bedtime, they become overtired and have trouble falling and staying asleep. then they wake up tired and will fight nap time. it's a vicious cycle!

does your DD know how to go to sleep by herself?

My 18 month old gets up early & lately he's been bad about not wanting to go to bed. I think that's a bad habit he's learning from older brother. Or at least feeding off the energy of older brother running around. He's also difficult at nap time. I do a lot of naps on the weekend starting with a car ride.
