another thing too that you can try is tell your little one that their is other kids in this world that need the bottles more than he does, you can pretend to ship them away to the needy kids, tell him that he is a very big and brave boy for doing this. it will make him feel good about himself and make him feel good for helping other children. If he brings it up in the middle of the night remind him of what he did and how great it was. I hope that might help a little

dental hygienist here, and a mom of a baby who wouldn't give it up. daddy couldn't stand to let her cry. so best alternative. get rid of bottles at your house. only sippy cups cause they still prevent spills. just tell him they are all gone. it does work after a few days like start thurs and you should be good by mon. the other thing, give him his milk sippy outside of his room right before bed then if he asks give him a sippy with water only, he'll stop waking up in just a few nights. problems if you don't - after 3 the mouth doesn't revert from any problems formed ortho wise with nuks or bottles, cavities in baby teeth, make sure if your kid is a bottle baby he sees a DDS right away, he may already have a bunch of cavities :( baby bottle decay, sorry to bring up the neg, but i have seen it so often and parents don't know, but kiddos can be in significant pain sometimes ane you wouldn't know. last reccommendation, supplement the night time with not only water but add a little XYLITOL it has to be xylitol no other artificial sweeteners. xylitol has been linked to reduced decay and ear nose throat infections look it up, it's been used abroad for years, great success and huge anticavity you'll see it in almost all sugar free gums now, though not in great quantities. good luck

only thing i would do is "tough love" give a bottle before bed and thats it. even if he wakes up wanting it just rock him back to sleep and he will get the idea that the bottles dont exist after bedtime....of course im a first time mom so im just takin a stab at what i would do

i didnt give my daughter a bottle after 1 yr old...it only took 2-3 days...but to help her fall asleep i would tickle or massage her arms and legs. it worked good for us...
