I believe that my son is ready to be potty trained. He is just about 25 months old and I thought he was ready as he is very much interested in what myself and his father do in the bathroom, he knows what his potty and training toilet seat is used for and whenever his training nappy is wet he takes it off. My problem is he just will not sit on his potty not even to watch tv or read so how can I get him to wee in it if he won't even sit on it? Your advice would be very welcome, thank you

thanks for the comments. I tried putting him in pants as i thought it may get him to use the potty as he wouldn't like being wet. Huge mistake as he didn't really know when he was wet. So gave up on that idea. This morning was a big break through as he sat on his potty with no nappy on for between 5 n 10 minutes watching mickey mouse. I didn't push him to wee on it I just praised him for sitting on the potty and he didn't wee he got bored of sitting & got up to play so I said he had to have a nappy on if he chose not to do a wee on the potty. He does not like nappies & will often take them off himself. I now don't know if to carry on taking things this slowly or to just keep putting him in big boys pants & hopefully he'll not like being wet. When he has a nappy on he takes it off himself when he has done a wee as, I'm assuming, he don't like being wet.

I bought all different kinds of stickers for my son and allowed him to decorate his potty and make it his...It was fun for him and soon after he was sitting on the potty. I also would play a game (I spy worked the best for me) with him while he was on the potty to distract him from the thought of not wanting to be on the potty.

teach him to stand put fruit loops in it and tell him to aim. or have his dad or any male u trust take him in the bathroom let him watch them. it takes awhile for them to get it.
