I've been at home with my 16 month old ever since he was born but I'm going back to school in two weeks. Is there anyway I can prepare him before he goes so maybe it won't be so hard on him? My 5 month old doesn't have a problem being held by others but my 15 month old screams if someone he doesn't know tries to take him from me...

I was a stay at home mom til earlier this year. I took my daughter with me when I went to look at the daycare so she could see her new environment. Once I started though it took a few weeks before she would not cry when I left. I was told after a few minutes she was fine and the ladies directed her elsewhere to distract her and she was good. After that she was fine but I still have days when she just doesn't want to go. Hope that helps!

take im to a mall play area and let him roam around and get warmed up to other kids. I had this same problem with my 13 month old. When i dropped her off i would put her in the play room with other kids and get her interested in a toy and quickly but quietly get out of the room and out the door. It may take a coulpe of weeks but you can do it. I still have some troubles being a divorced mom when i drop off on Mondays but it will be a good start for all of you
