My little one seems to know that she just turned two, because all of a sudden she is ON FIRE with the temper tantrums, the ignoring direction, the testing boundaries, etc., etc. I need to do some research to get some tools in my back pocket for how to discipline. I know there are so many strategies and philosphies out there. Looking for suggestions. I know that we won't be spanking b/c my husband is horribly opposed. So suggestions anyone?????

If you have time - I love the Active Parenting series. I'm a school counselor and took a class when my oldest was 2 for school age children and started using the techniques then already. When/then statements, either or options, etc. Now, she's 4 and my son just turned 2. We still use a lot of time outs. They also know if they are give a choice and don't make up their mind by the time I count to 3 then I get to make the choice. I've also heard good things about Common Sense Parenting and Conscious Discipline, but have not read either book or taken a class on them. I hope this helps.
