My son is 25months old and the only word he says is daddy. I'm not that worried, its frustrating but I know in time he will talk.

So will your son :)

My son is perfectly healthy and is almost 22 months old and doesn't say a word. All children have different personalities and learn and want to do things differently. You're son is fine just give him time.

No. If he has good comprehension and is saying some words and babbling I would not be worried.

He is a different kid from his big brother. He also has a big brother who likely will do some talking for him. My son is 23 months old and at 18 months only said a few words, signed a whole lot and what feels like over night he suddenly started saying a ton of words and stringing 2-3 word sentences together. I can't keep up with all the new words!

So no worries!

No. My daughter is 22 months and has just started talking. I was starting to worry but 3 weeks ago she started repeating words and this week she's using 2 word phrases. My daughter hit all her motor skill milestones really early so it seems that was more important to her than it seems to be time to develop the language skills. Each kiddie does their own thing at their own pace.

I agree with Jennifer.

My son (at that age) didnt say no more than one word for a long time. I was always telling my husband how worried I was about it and he kept reassuring me that all kids are different (I kept referring to how much other kids were progressing and talking) we just needed to give him time and he would do it when he was ready. Of course, just a couple months later he was talking up a storm. Just keep encouraging him.. he'll get it eventually. :)

Believe me it happens all at once! My son was the same way until he hit 22 months. Now 25 months he doesn't STOP talking. :) He also learned all his letters and can count to ten and forms 3-4 word sentences. Seems like it just happened over night.

I think that the 2nd child usually talks less because their older sibling talks for them more. At least, that's what I've heard from a lot of people. What does your pediatrician say?
