I have found the best thing to do is to ignore my 14 month old. I make sure she isn't near anything that can hurt her because she likes to flail around. I have heard that if you give them attention they will continue to throw tantrums.

It depends on the child.   With my oldest I ignore him and he stops, It took a while for this to work but all he wanted was for me to respond so I don't   I respond to the positive things he does not the negative.  You just have to stick with it long enough for it to work which is very hard.  Or making her go to her room to scream it out by herslef letting her know that kind of behaviour is unexeptable around you and if she wants to act like that she can do it alone.  These 2 ideas have helped me a lot.   My son no longer throws tantrumes and my daughter didn't for very long because we had already imposed this on her from the start.  Hope this helps!!  Good Luck :)

Ignoring works for me too.  It is so hard to stay calm and not flip out too, but I have found that this is the fastest and easiest method to deal with it.  Good Luck!!
