Hi I am Leeann and would love it if anyone had any suggestion on how to teach your child how to say certain letters. Tyrus talks really well he just can't say certain things and although I am sure he will get them eventually, I would love to be able to help him along! Thank everyone!

Hi Leeann! I have my undergraduate degree in communicative disorders, which is basically speech therapy without my masters! Anyway, we learned about the development of language and those letters will come. Children learn letter sounds at different times. If he doesn't have all of his sounds by 8, then I would be looking for help. I am sure "f" will come soon but "l"s are a little harder and it may take a while. But if you want to try to help him along, I would just model the sound. Have him look at your mouth, as you point to it, and say the sound. That way he will see where you put your tongue and how you shape your mouth. That's the best advice I have for you! Good Luck!
