The Little Nudist! How can I get my daughter to keep her diaper on overnight?

My daughter is almost 20 months and is on the cusp of being ready for the potty. The problem we are experiencing is mainly overnight. I think what happens is she wets the diaper and then doesn't like the feeling so she takes it off along with all of her clothes. The main issue is what happens after....more pee and then sometimes poop. She doesn't make any noise until after she is undressed so it's hard to tell when it's happening. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can get this little "Poodini" to keep her diaper on overnight?

Thanks,
Christy

Thanks for all of your thoughts and advice. I racked my brain as to why she might be doing this and the only thing I could come up with is that she is board. She's stuck in her crib with nothing else to do. So my husband and I made the executive decision to move her into a big girl bed; mattress on the floor surrounded by foam squares. She loves it! When she wakes up she is able to get up and play with her toys and read her books. We put a baby gate in front of her door and just leave the door a jar so that she is able to look out if she wants to. It took a bit of work to baby proof the room even more but it was well worth it for a happy "fully clothed" little girl!

my husband and I are having the EXACT same issue and our daughter is 20 months old too, I think the best and really only way to deal with it is to try and dress her in clothes that are difficult for her to get off... like a onesie with some kind of bottoms over it... If your child is REALLY good at getting the clothes off this probably wont work, but mine hasnt learned to unsnap those little snaps between the legs yet and putting bottoms on over the onesie discourages her from trying. Hope this helps some.

Does she know how to use a zipper yet? If not, get some zip-up pjs (we use the footie zip ups). The ones with the button at the top that goes over the zipper. They work awesome for me. My son, who know how to open a zipper, gives up trying to get at his diaper half way down and goes back to sleep. Hopefully this helps.
