My 2 1/2 year old is now really throwing tantrums it seems every minute. Time outs don't really work and I'm running out of ideas/patience. Please help!

I agree.. ignore them.. and eventually they give up.. its good to want to nip it in the butt now.. because threes are wayyyyy worse than twos..

Mine is the same age. I ignore the tantrums and that seems to help. He may just want the attention, even if it is negative. I also tell him to talk to me and tell me what he wants. He gets frustrated easily and when I find out what's wrong, it's usually something silly like he can't reach the toy he wants, or his drink, etc.

What is he throwing tantrums about? If he always has a fit when... you can try to intercede and prevent the tantrum. You can try changing what he is doing, distract him...once you see his forehead crease right before the screams come say something like maybe its time for a walk? I would just make sure to do this before he has a fit or else he would likely have a fit every time he wants to take a walk! Que in on his behaviors that way you notice that he is in a bad mood, maybe its the same time every day and he needs to take a nap earlier?
