My son is 18 months old, i was wondering when is the right time to try and covert him into a toddler bed. there is some times that he will lay in his bed and go sound to sleep, then other times he will fight it for hours..... please help...

We converted pretty early, I guess. The first time my son tried to climb out of his crib, that was it for me! So we converted our crib to the toddler bed and at night we put up those safety walls, then we took those off and started putting pillows on the floor, and soon enough, he was sleeping just fine. Now we deal with him getting up all by himself, but we don't mind that, as we are early risers anyway, but you could always put a baby gate at his door or something.
Anyway, we switched early because we decided 8 inches was MUCH less to fall from than 4.5 feet.
Give it a try. You could always go back :)
