Has any one out there got a boisterous boy who is turning three? I am struggling with how to discipline him as no matter what I say he answers back and takes no notice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

patience and hard work. My son is doing ths only he has a baby sister, he takes toys away, lays on her, etc and no matter what i do he won't listen. I put in hte corner for time outs then explain what he did wrong seems to work for awhile.

Have you tried setting a timer when he is in time out? That worked with my son. He knows he has to sit there till the oven buzzer goes off. Trust me is was a trying time and I took more mommy time outs then he did but, every time he got up, I just put him back in the chair. We call it the Naughty chair and he doesn't go near it unless he is in trouble. Stand your ground and follow through...you will be okay!

I am going through the EXACT same thing. My little boy will be three in Jan. These past couple of weeks have been HORRIBLE...he talks back...screams...hits..kicks...listens to nothing!!! I AM LIKE WHERE DID THIS CHILD COME FROM!!???I watch John and Kate plus 8 and i think HOW does this women deal with 6 of these??? lol I have a specific chair *time out chair* that i have been putting him in but it doesnt seem to do any good. So i started sending him to his room and making him set on his bed. Bc not only does it seem to calm down and work better but it gets him away from me for a little bitt to cool me down. So maybe try this/?!?!?!?!? good luck i feel for ya !! hehe!!

I know what you mean! My son will be 3 in March, and there are many days that I count down the time until he will go to bed! He is so stubborn. I have tried so many things, and he wears me out! How do you entertain a 2 1/2 your old for 14 hours a day?

I usually hold my son by both shoulders and make him look me in the eyes to interrupt the behavior and keep from self-distracting (although he is quite persistent in that area). Removing the toy (put the toy on time out) and/or removing him from the situation or turning off the TV have also helped. Good luck! I know how frustrating kids can be!
