My 16 mo old is trying to jump out of her crib at every chance possible. She did manage to jump out once and after that we have the crib mattress at its lowest setting possible.

I would appreciate any suggestions of how to keep her in the crib for some more time.

Thanks.

If you are worried and don't want to rush out to get a toddler bed just yet, the crib mattress on the floor works too!

I agree with everyone above. It's time to get another baby gate and get either a toddler bed or a regular bed with side rails. My daughter and I moved when she was 15 months and I accidentally broke the crib (oops!), I already had a toddler bed in storage so I just got that out and put her in there. I made sure to put the same sheets and blankets on it so that it was still a little familiar to her. Within a night or two she was going to sleep in there like a pro.

I woud get her a toddler bed.If you are concerned about her getting up before you or in the middle of the night and getting into stuff , you can get a baby gate for her bedroom door...That is what we did with my son and it works nicely. During naptime  (since I am up ) i leave his gate open so when he gets up he can just wander out to me... but at night if he wakes up he usually either cries(and then i go get him and put him back to bed) or sometimes he wil just fall asleep again in front of the door with his pillow and blanket.. Dont fear the toddler bed!

there is no reason to keep her in the crib for longer. The crib mattress will fit in a toddler bed, and toddler beds are usually less then $100 unless you go for an expensive one.

your suppose to switch them to a toddler bed once they start escaping from the crib. as far as ways to keep her in it, not really sure.
