toddler yet??.....

when is it that a baby goes from infant to toddler? is it based on age or is it based on their walking ability? my youngest is 10 1/2 months old and is taking sometimes 2 sometimes 6 or 7 steps.. she is constantly getting up and 'walking'.. will she be a fully fledged toddler when she is walking more regular or when she hits a certain age? thanks in advance x

IDK? I think when they are one & toddling around I would classify them as a toddler? My What To Expect The Toddler Years book starts @ 13 mos.

My daughter was walking at that age also so i consider her a toddler i consider them toddlers when they are walking and have at least 2 teeth

its not a case of ''needing'' to know. its a question as to when a baby is classed as a toddler.. thanks anyway :)

Hi Emma, why do you need to know? A child can be a "toddler" in some areas of development (large motor movements) and still a baby in others (speech, cognition, small motor movements, social behaviour and play). They all get there in the end!
