Do I need to have an Id for my 3 year old son when flying? He's always flown on my lap.

You do need proof of age when flying. Some airlines will charge you for a second ticket once your child is over a certain age. But just like you show your id, the child needs some kind of id too. So, when I travel I take a copy of my kids shot records or the crib cards I got when they were born.

Also, calling the airline, depending on who you are talking to, if you don't ask the right questions, you won't get all the right, or full answers.

I just flew with my two-year-old and no one asked me for ID for her. Not sure if being 3yrs old makes a difference. You may want to check with Airline.

I would call the airline that you are using and ask them. That way you know for sure.
