I just have a question to ask I am going to be doing a 6 hour drive and then a 7 hour boat ride with my 3 year old coming up in march and my 2 month old was just wondering how to keep the 3 year old busy .. I do have a dvd player for her and some crayons and coloring and stuff but wanting to bring out something new for her.. i heard there is hand held games for them but the only ones i saw were for 4 years old and was wondering if maybe thats to old for her but she is advanced in most things for her age.. also to snack ideas for them.

We have done a few long car rides/plane rides and the DVD is great- but only for so long. I have also done kid music cds that we sing to as we drive, new books, a new small toy, the color wonder markers are great because you odn't have to worry about them coloring your car/things on the boat. If you think your child is ready for the toy, she probably is- if not you will have it next year when she is ready. I also prepackeged healthy snacks so while I was driving/taking care of the baby I could give my 3yr old a snack to tide her over- a small cooler in the passenger seat is nice for water, milk, etc.
