Trouble Sleeping. Mosters, need of sleep!

My 2 years and 7 month old daughter is having trouble sleeping for the last 3 weeks. We have tried letting her cry it out which made is so bad that she would shake and cry when we told her it was time for bed. One night last week she finally told me she sees monsters in her room. I don't know where she gets that from. I thought that happens to 4 years old children not 2! So we now stay with her until she falls asleep (She is still in her crib). She has a nightlight, we sweep for monsters before bed, and I put a dream catcher above her crib as well as a blessed rosary (just in case!). So basically we tried everything and she is still up screaming 3-6 times a night! We respond promptly and she usually falls back asleep within 15 minutes but I can't go back to sleep that fast. Help we all need more sleep! Any suggestions that worked for you will be greatly appreciated. I will try anything as I am desperate after three weeks of not getting enough sleep. She used to sleep through the night no problem before this.

My son used to be very afraid of the dark... so I started leaving the light in the hallway on and wait until a little after he fell asleep and then I would turn it off. I would check on him every now and then. Put something by her bed to "scare off the monsters". It worked for my son. Just to have something there in case anything happened! Good luck!

Have you tried putting some water and lavender in a spray bottle and letting her spray it to keep the monsters away? I have no had this problem myself, but saw this on Nanny 911 and it worked for the parents. They let the child spray it to keep the monsters away and the lavender is calming too.
