Trying to get my almost 4 year old to listen without screaming.

I'm having a huge issue with my son. He's almost 4 and I have tried to talk to him without yelling and I get no where. In 2 seconds he's back to doing the same thing we just talked about him not doing. He's rude and disrespectful. And I don't know how to change this attitude. He has a little brother and older sister who do not talk to me or eachother this way. I don't want my youngest to pick up on this attitude either. I'm not sure what else to try. I've tried talking to him sitting him down explaining to him and he says he understands but then does the same thing. And eventually I get tired or taking and repeating and trying time outs and "distracting" him from it. I scream. And then I feel guilty afterwards. I'm getting no where and feel horrible as a parent. Most of our issues are at bedtime or playing with toys and not hitting or throwing them at his brother. He will be starting preschool this year. Any helpful hints??

Hang in there! This can be frustrating especially when you’re repeating the same things over and over again. However, this is a season and this will soon end. Continue to speak to him about the behavior with your “patience cap” on. Relax and try to speak with him in a calm, stern voice.
Good luck! I wish you all the best.
