My daugther is 28 months. I just took the bottle away for naps and bedtime. She gets a warm cup of milk before bed while watching Toopi and Binoo and then to bed. It was not easy as her sister still has a bottle. She asked for her bottle every night and for the first 2 weeks cried herself to sleep. Now I put her to bed with her Blankie and here nothing more about having a bottle. Stay strong they eventually will give up asking for it.

Try reinforcing her with stickers and make a big deal about the fact that she's a big girl and she doesn't need a soother anymore. Also mention the fact that they aren't allowed at school and none of the other kids at school will have one because they aren't for big kids.

Good luck!

thanks for the suggestions I"ll try it but the other problem is she has 2 younger siblings that use them too so if she really wants one she goes and gets one of theirs

my daughter is 3 (4 in nov) I got rid of her bottles when she was around 2 years old.

I just threw them out one day and she was fine because she had her own big girl cups.

But the dummies are another story. She only gave them up just over 2 weeks ago.

It was funny how I got her to give them up.

We watch the super nanny and one night I could not find a dummy and could not be bothered looking for one any longer. So I told her that super nanny was watching us and that we better goto sleep now or super nanny will come in the room and tell me off for letting her have a dummy still.Because she was to big for a dummy. And she want to sleep. She dose ask for it every now and then but the worse thing about her giving up the dummy is that she dose not have day sleeps any more and is so cranky throught the day that I could just give her a dummy again to get some peace. We wake up at 5 nearly every day (She wont sleep in) So she needs a sleep even if just for an hour.

I say just take one thing away at a time or it might be to much for your little one to deal with giving up both at once.

Try waiting till santa comes and say that santa needs the dummies for a baby that dose not have one or get the dummy fairy to come.Say that the dummy fairy leaves presents for big children that give up there dummies and buy her a toy she has wanted. Can do the same with the bottles.(the bottle fairy) hope this helps.
