malachis ear dr was really good today and witnessed just how stong this kid really is.so he still has an ear infection...but its better. His dr wants us to wait a while to see if the infections will clear up on their own through the summer. When i told him he struggle to give him the meds he said if its that bad we can do the tubes again when we are comfortable with it. He said he would also suggest having his adnoids removed at the same time.I am thinking that if he has one more infection or we cant get the one he has now to clear up completely we will proceed with the surgery. Giving malachi medication is a joke. we literally have to wrap him as tight as possible in a blanket and my husband hold him down and i pinch his face so he cant close his jaw and give him his meds slowly down the back of his throat. while he screams mommy in the worse ssounding scream ever.so the sooner the better... i am thinking. his previous tubes fell out in the last 6 week and have had 2 infections already. so what would you do??? any suggestions or anybody been in our situation before?

My oldest had them at 13 mos and had to have them again at 9 yrs. The doc took out his adnoids and since then (almost 14 now) he hasn't had a single ear infection and (coincedence?) his sinus infections stopped as well. The sinus infections were usually the cause of the ear infections. My youngest had tubes at 11 mos and luckily hasn't had problems since then. Good luck!!

My son Evan had his first set of tubes at 6 months. He had ear infectoins still and was on an antibiotic every 3 weeks. His ENT took a head and neck xray and his tonsils and adenoids were huge! At 16 months he had a tube in his left ear replaced and his tonsils and adenoids out. He did great and we have had one infection since then. If you like and feel comfortable with your doctor I would highly rcommend it. It has made my sons life so much better and ours because he is not sick every three weeks. Good luck everything will be fine.
