Tummy / BM issues?

My 21/2 year daughter is in the process of potty training. So far she is doing well... but some days she tells me her tummy hurts and sometimes she thinks she needs to use the potty but nothing happens. Sometime her tummy hurt so much she stops eating and I think it is related to a BM coming but not sure why her tummy hurts so much and why she doesn't always have a BM when it does etc. Anyone else ever have this issue? Tummy hurting with BMs sometimes following? I don't think she is constipated but maybe? Any Thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!

my girlfriends daughter would hold her poo for up to 3 wks. obviously she freaked and took her to the doctor. very normal, but he ended up giving her meds that helped "move things along". who knew they could be that stubborn!

Thanks Reeya. Her BMs are not regular and they vary some on size, softness too... I wonder if she tries to hold them in too... I go give her a little bit of prune juice mixed with other juice to help mover things along but not much cause then things get too soft!

My son was/is having the same problems. We took him to the pediatrician who said that a lot of toddlers go thru this because of trying to hold in the BM, which in turn does cause slight constipation and/or stomach upset. Although all children are different so if you say her BM's are regular, it could be something else I guess. Good luck!
