violent tempers!!!

my 19 month old son is throwing these temper tanrums where he punches, kicks,or hits my stepson with toys, how do i stop this behavior with out feeding in to it???

I agree with Rachel. An audience feeds a temper tantrum... move your 19-month old son to a room where he is safe, and he will calm down. After, remind him that what he did was unacceptable and show him he is loved. And, move on.

My daughter threw alot of tanrums when she was around that age my resource mom told me to put her in a room where she couldn't hurt her self and she would calm down really fast I would then explain to her that it was unacceptable of what she was doing and give her a hug and she would be fine. I use to put her in her crib but then she learned how to climed out of that.

My 3 year old daughter has started doing this to me. She saw her daddy act violently toward me, so I think that might have something to do with it. I'm going to be taking her to her new pediatrician for her 3rd year check up and flu shot. Maybe the doc will know something.
