I am putting my 3 year old to bed between 9:30 and 10 pm at night, and he wakes up 3 to 4 times a night for different things. I am not getting enough sleep and I don't know what to do. My 6 month old seems to sleep through the whole night and now I feel like a brand new mom again. I need some advise on how to deal with it so it doesn't happen or at least not as much. I am loosing it ahhhhhh!!! Please help I would like to be a nice mom again not a sleepless Grumpy mom. :)

his bedtime is too late :( late bedtimes often result in night wakings and early morning wakings. try shifting his bedtime earlier each night by 15/20mins until you get to about 730pm. i'm not sure if he's napping but if he's not, definitely get him to bed by 730pm at the latest; 7pm if possible. overtired kids will be fussy, throw tantrums a lot, wake up at night and fight sleep like there's no tomorrow!

My 2 1/2 year old little boy has never slept through the night and currently he gets up atleast once a night. Usually he wants a drink. Sometimes I am afraid that he is having night terrors, which are common in ages 2-4 years. I tell him it is time to be a "big boy" and sleep in your "big boy" bed. That usually takes care of it. Before bed I always make sure he is dry, not hungry, and not thirsty. I would just provide postive reinforcement and encouragement to him.

Tell him to stay in bed until the sun comes up. It works well with all ages, they get an understanding of how to tell time and know what to do. At first he still might try to get up and test you but don't give him what he wants. Quickly and calmly return him to bed, give a kiss and tell him to stay in bed until the sun comes up. Keep repeating yourself so that he will think of it on his own and learn to stay in bed, that you are no longer giving in.
