I'm trying to come up with ways to adjust my boyfriends 2 yr old daughter to us having a new baby this year. She's still a little confused that this will be her sister even though I am not her mother. Any suggestions?

Yea I think its the best way to teach a toddler to care for a new baby! I had her talking to my belly today asking the baby if it was alright to use her toy. she's so cute. I'm really hoping she wont have a hard time adjusting, Luckily she loves all little babies, she can just be a little rough sometimes. Thanks guys, i'm very excited and this is my first! =)

Get some books about being a big sister. There are tons of them. Also I got a present for her from the baby when she came to meet the baby at the hospital too. 4 years later the baby doll that her brother gave her is still special to her!

I know that this sounds a bit crazy but when I was pregnant with my 2nd son I got my older son a baby to teach him how to deal with the change and it did help!!!! So I hope that it helps you out as well!!

Thats awesome I am sure she will be a great big sister and you sound like a great mother. Congratulations on your new little one.

Thats a good idea! I think i'll go buy her a new baby doll today! Yea I think its going to be easier to adjust her when the baby is actually here but Ive been trying to get her involved with my pregnancy as much as possible. thanks for the advice! =)

she is very young when the baby comes you can explain about this being her sister, for the mean time I suggest getting her her own baby with all the accessories so she can learn to be gentle with baby and how to take care of baby and when the baby comes she can feed, change and put baby to sleep when you are doing it with your baby .
