I'd try starting with switching from breast to bottle. I breastfed and pumped to transition to the bottle. How old is the baby? Cause that would impact transitioning. It'll probably be easier to get him in the crib after he's off the breast too, but just start by rocking him to sleep and put him in the crib after he's out. Nap time should always be in the crib too, if not already. People used to hold my daughter for her entire nap when she was little if I didn't tell them otherwise and it drove me nuts. If he wakes try soothing by rubbing his tummy or back and I always sing to my daughter. You could put on soothing music or something as well. It's not gonna be easy, but I hope this helps. Good luck and I'm sure your hubby will be encouraging once he's back. Best wishes.

I would try to tackle just one of those at a time: bf'ing or co-sleeping. Both will be a big transition for you & your son.

When I decided to wean, I found very little info that was helpful. But in the end, it was much easier than I expected. Start with reducing the number of times you bf. Try replacing the feeding with a bottle or something. Also avoid some of your regular routines during that time when you would normally bf. Don't sit down around your son at that time, he'll try to get in your lap to nurse. Really, they adjust to new routines much quicker than we do.

I'd also consider contacting La Leche League or a lactation consultant for some guidance if you need it.

I don't have any suggestions for the co-sleeping but I'm sure you can find other moms with suggestions.

Good luck & I am happy your husband will be returning home soon. Safe journey to him :)
