As a Mother of 5 and a Grandmother of 1 the same technique has worked on our home everytime. Put a training potty in your bathroom and when you or Dad goes to use the washroom take him with you and just let him sit on it. The whole idea is to not freak him out with one day saying there it is and now we are using it................let him get used to it. Later when he is ready to start ( he will start wanting his pants down to sit on the potty is a good sign) boys love shooting at cheerios..................helps with direction.......Hope this helps!

hi there.

i have 2 children, one almost 5 and one almost 1. You can tell if your little boy is ready when he shows some signs...like recognizing when he is actually peeing and being able to tell you, wanting to sit on the potty..even for 5 minuted (doesn't even have to do anything on there..just likes to sit there), gets excited about peeing other than in his diaper. With boys it usually takes a bit longer to train...not sure why. But don't be discouraged and don't push him or he may revert back just as my son did. I come from a european background and it was always pushed on me to get him trained...but you have to follow his lead. Just stay strong...it is hard. Try reading that book...potty training in a day. The first couple of chapters are a good read to help you with understanding the signs. The whole party in a day deal..didn't work for me...but you have to try whatever works as each child is different. Good Luck and stay positive! It has to be a fun experience for him!!!
