If you are potty training a 2 year old boy, it tends to take them longer to be ready to potty train.  My son was almost 3 before he was ready!  I think the Key is to wait until they are ready.  Then it is much easier!  For boys that usually means almost 3 years old.  My son trained in about 2 weeks and it was so easy and I think it was b/c I waited for him and didn't push it.  Now when he is ready, you have to stay on top of things!  Really encourage them and give rewards!  I did a sticker board.  Every time he went potty he got to put a sticker on the Paper that sat next to the potty on the cabinet.  He loved stickers at the time so that was a good incentive for him.  I hope this can be of help to you!!

boys seem to take longer, my son was about 2 1/2 when he got into it and 3 when he was completely potty trained, but my daughter who is only 19 months is already using the potty durring the day. Just take you time, he'll go when hes ready, dont try to rush it or it will take even longer :)

My son is almost four, and he's only been potty trained for about a month, month and a half. Boys just take longer than girls; most of the moms I've talked to agree.
