oh my goodness!!! my 22 mth old is doing that exact thing at the moment!! The only difference is that he is in his own big boy bed now and can get out of it and walk to our room....FRUSTRATING!!! But i find i just have to go in and reasure him and and tell him to close his eyes and that its ok. and shhhhhh :) this works on occasion but last night i even resorted to laying him in front of the tv to take his mind off what was bothering him. He soon fell asleep and i put him back to bed :)

my son will be one next week and was doing this a couple of weeks ago i put it down to night terrors 2 but when i went to the health visitor (just to be weighed) i found out he'd has an ear infection all that time i felt so bad so might be worth getting his ears checked just 2 be on the safe side. xxx

Your daughter is at the right age for night terrors. My son has them intermittantly. truthfully there is nothing you can do but soothe your child. Still - you do need to mention them to your child's pediatrician.

My son (15 months) used to do the same thing, we learned he was having night terrors. I would go in his room freaking out and most of the time he was still sleeping! Truthfully I don't think there is anything you can do to stop it, but when it happens go in her room and rub her belly of back which ever she prefers to reassure her that its ok. I did this with my son, now he doesn't have them anymore. Some peditritions even say that what you give them before bed could cause this, ask yours for advice.
