The back piece of the earing was literally stuck in her ear. Luckily we were able to get it out with only a few tears shed. However, her ear is badly infected and real red. What else can I do other then peroxide??? See the doctor???

Use tea tree oil!!!! Best antibacterial, infection fighting stuff there is. All natural, won't hurt your little one and you use so little of it. It can even be swallowed (though I don't recommend, tastes awful). Good luck!!!!

how old is she? if she can sit still then use a sea salt soak (bit of salt, warm water), you can dab a bit of tea tree oil on the infected area (just a tad, diluted) or lavander oil works too. bactine works well (an antibacterial solution, you can get it anywhere...walmart for instance) or if you can find it there is a paste for skin irritations made with silver (but that's really hard to find...i've only found it once at a alternative health store). make sure you wash your hands with an antibac soap before you handle her ear and clean it a few times a day. make sure she doesn't touch it either. i am quite pierced myself, and have used everything i mentioned to get rid of an infection successfully :)

oh and i forgot, if you can, put a sleeper hoop thru the hole, it will help it heal quicker (no puss can get trapped, twist it thru the ear with the antibac solution on it, etc)

See the doctor. Infections are not the time to play around with home remedies. Hopefully, it can be treated without the hole closing up. If this is a new piercing, it will probably close up while healing and need to be redone at a later time.
