I read in a book I cant remember where, that once the child falls asleep you can bring him to his bed, then when the child awakes in the middle of the night to go back to your bed, just take him by the hand and bring him back to his bed. It also said, not to speak to the child while you are doing this because it will wake the child up totally and then it will be difficult to get the child back into their bed. This should be done a few times and hopefully it will break the habit. Good Luck! :)

Wes slept with us for awhile. When the time came for him to move to his bed we statred off by letting him fall asleep with us and then we would put him in his bed. After like a week or so of that we took him out and let him pick out a new stuffed animal, he pick out Elmo and we statred putting him to bed with Elmo while he was still awake. We make sure to tell him its time for night night mommy and daddy love you and we will see you in the morning. The first couple of night he tried to get back up and we just put him back to bed and told him he was a big boy and he needed to stay in his bed. He has been sleeping in his big boy bed (twin bed) through out the night and going to bed without a single whine for over 2 months now. Hope this helps you out!
