I have a 13 month old son who will very rarely go to bed before 11 or 12 at night. He then wakes up at 6 or 7 in the morning and has 1 afternoon nap at around 1 in the afternoon for about 1 - 2 hours. We have tried putting him down in the cot with his bottle earlier at night but he just cries so hard he vomits. Please can you tell me more about what sleep training involves?

People kept talking about it and I had no clue. Was going to ask this, too. Thanks rene. :)

hopefully someone will explain what it is.

although, just read below. i'm not for letting anyone under a year cry for that long....especially 2 hours. My kids had their routines at night, i nursed them and rocked them until not quite asleep then when nice and calm laid them in their beds, said goodnight and left. routine's fairly the same except the get baths, brush own teeth, "goodnight" and bed.

i never had problems with my kids going to bed, but am curious as to what this is.

This is what happened with my son, he is 10 months. At Christmas we couldnt take it anymore and my husband was on holidays. So we would feed our baby his pablum and make sure he was stuffed, gave him a clean diaper, clean sheets and clean pj's. Tucked him into bed with his bottle and let him cry. The one night it was 2 hours, we would go in and tell him it was okay and then back out we would go. The second night he cried for about 1 and half hours. As the night went by the crying got less and less. Now he goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps till 11:30pm, gets his bottle then sleeps till 7am. Routine is everything for kids. Good luck
