Lots of animated speach from you and lots and lots of rhymes and songs. I am trained in speach and language therapy and I encourage words through play. Depending on how old the child is. I also use snap cards and picture play. If you have a toddler under the age of two then play lots of games using actions and words like "Ten fat sausages sizzling in the pan" Encourage the actions and the words will follow. Row Row Row your Boat is also a good rhyme. Your child should pick up the words row really quickly and then additional words will follow. Repetition is how a child learns to speak so talk all day long to your little one and they will soon be chatting back. Hope this helps!
