I let my daughter watch me and i would tell her what im doing and when i change her nappy i explain to her thats what we do in the big toilet. so when i sit on the toilet i get her to sit in her potty and we make funny noises. we never forced her to use it.

When she was ready she started to use it, now that she knows what it is she will go get her potty and bring it to where ever we are and use it on her own

First of all, I will say, I would start with one at a time instead of trying to keep 2 kids on the potty at once, with only 2 hands! What I did with my little boy is put his potty chair in the living room. I would put on his favorite pooh bear movie, and make him sit there for 10-15 minutes, let him play and then try again. If he got up during that time, his movie went off. When he sat down again, i would turn it back on again. If he went to the potty, we would give him a gummy bear! It didn't take him long at all to catch on! It is time consuming the first couple of days, but your life will be soooo much easier afterwards! Keep encouraged they all eventually grow out of diapers even though it seems to take forever!:)

I have a 2 1/2 yr old boy and he's slowly starting to go but he still gives me a hard time..i actually just let him go and he'll go on his own..my daughter was the same way..kids will eventually go on their own..give it time..a good way is to take them to the bathroom with you or for boys have them go with their daddy..watching you go will help them know that its okay to go to the toilet..hope this helps!

Sorry to say, but since no one has answered, you can guess there really isn't a best way :( sorry, just something we have to do as a mommy... good luck! I've had 4 kids & I tried EVERYTHING! every child is different & things may work for you that didn't work for others...Good Luck again!
