What's the best and safest medicine to be using on toddlers? Most of the medicine I come across in the store is suggested for like 5 and older kids. My child just turned 3. Is acetaminophen still the best remedy for the common cold at this age?

i recently spoke with the dr about this because my daughter is 2 but she is under weight due to prematurity, i was told that you should go by the weight of your child not the age, so i always check with the dr first because some medicines can cause respitory problems if the doses are not adjusted according to weight, but the fail safe is always infant tylenol in their eyes.

There are lots of homeopathic drugs that are great for kids. They ate much safer too. For coughs I use Chestal, it is honey based. CVS, Walgreens or Whole Foods carries it. For runny noses, Pulsatilla is great. Whole Foods or any other natural food store carries this. For fever, Tylenol works best. Try the homeopathic route. It really works and it so much better for them.

I have not heard of this drug so I can not comment but drugs I do know that work and are safe are junior paracetamol and junior ibruprophen. These take temeperatures down safely and fast. Also Piriton can be given to help dry up a nose in the case of an extreme cold.
