Show excitement about going and tell her what she will learn. Just talk about it and build it up to be a wonderful thing. Read to her, talk about sharing (like the others said). My daughter is 3 1/2 and has been going for two years and she absolutely loves it.

Talk a lot about sharing and being nice. My son is an only child and has been in daycare since 3 months and nursery then pre-school (he is almost 4). You would not believe how hard it is for some of these kids to be nice, gentle, kind and share. I know its all about learning new skills and at that age lots of the focus is on social skills but I think if you can arm your child in advance with some of these skills it does pay off. my sons teachers always tell me how nice he is and how he is patient and kind. Its so sweet to hear that. Also, like Maureen said, read, read and read. Good luck.

I think I'm going to start dropping my daughter off at daycare once a week or so just to get her used to being in large groups of kids without me nearby. I'm always there wherever she is so I kinda want to ease her into it and get her used to meeting more children than just my friends' kids that she has known forever.

The best thing you can do is just read to her everyday. They learn so much just through regular playing. Have fun with her. How old will she be in the fall when you start? If they start to young they may struggle. Talk with the teacher if you have any concerns once she is in preschool.
