I just invested in the color wonder markers for my daughter for a 2 hour car ride. they only work on special paper so they are mess free.  love them

I would give him lots of things to look at and interact with. Coloring, reading books, toys. Things that will keep him interested. If you have a i-pod or cd player. Load it with a bunch of songs that he likes to listen to. Of course snacks. I am not a big fan of TV at his age but if it's only every once in a while by all means bring it!!  Think of some fun games that the both of you can do together. Pillow and blanket. I travel a lot and these are things I feel like have worked the best! Hope this helps...

New toys he hasn't seen and a portable DVD player! Why drug your child if he isn't sick?

okay my pediatrician told me to give them a little tylenol because we were on a long flight to japan but you can always call and ask your ped. he can tell you best.

If it were me, I'd bring his favorite toys, maybe coloring books and crayons. My two yr. old loves coloring and they have those crayola color explosions, that only write on the paper so they don't make a mess. Make sure to bring lots of snacks and drinks for the little guy too. Have him drink while taking off and landing, it helps with the ear popping.

I was told by my pediatrician not to give them anything....  But, our flight was only 3 hours....  I wish you the best of luck!  I suggest you take a portable DVD player, several of his favorite movies/cartoons and lots of snacks!

Good luck!
