My daughter is 20 months old. She has very recently gotten attached to a stuffed "puppy". She loves puppy. But my usually not too whiney girl has switched anytime puppy is not in her sight. She cries and whails for him. Its making me really dislike puppy. What do I do about an overlly needy use of a soothie.... Please help!

Thanks ladies, today I actually got in MOPS without taking puppy in.. hurray but then I got in there and saw every girl her age in there with a puppy and thought why am I fighting this but

A) he smells (and yes I do wash him when I can pry him from her hands)

B) he is falling apart (she chews on his nose)

but then again I think its true love...

thanks ladies. I like the bench idea.... I tell her he is going to take a nap, but she just cries. "PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY!" drives me bonkers.

Both my girls have lovey's. I use to let them go in the car and have to stay in the seats when we were in stores bu t Now I have a bench near our door that I tell the kids their lovey's have to stay. They say good night to them so they can nap when we are out. It is hard when you lose them. Good luck!

My little one was the same with his igglepiggle we couldnt go anywhere without it, I bought another one just in case the original got lost or in case it ws in the wash, but he never seemed to like the replacement and luckly we never lost him, only in the last couple of weeks he has let us just leave it in his cot, and I explain to him that he will be there when he goes to sleep and he is fine with that.
